I have an opportunity to purchase a trailered steel building manufacturing machine that allows the construction of any kind, shape or size of steel building; many can be completed in a day apparently (10,000~SF) and was wondering whether our fraternity would be interested in such an adventure. All you need is a foundation prepped - you can pour the concrete before or after assembly, sitting it on top of it or embedding it.

The raw material comes in different gauges, but I think 1MM is going to be the average; it also comes in a variety of colors and finishes (including raw galvanized).

The building shape can vary from quonset-hut to traditional barn styles and windows, skylights and dormers are possible, although the more complex designs will probably mean additional costs. The machine is computer-controlled for consistency & quality.

So, if I get into this, how many of you would subscribe to an affordable "GMC Gypsy" garage manufacturer making his way across the country, building one GMC nest after another?

I figure pricing the work at a 25% discount under the regular sources should assure lots of takers, but I could be wrong.

You Tell Me!

The first job I would do would hopefully be to enclose a certain central Florida GMC repair facility's open lot so that they can start working despite the torrential Florida downpours - or even an expanded facility, which might be better.

The bottom line is I would finally be able to afford to finish my GMC and take it on the road! Even serving as a full-time traveling home while putting up garages would be fine.

Seriously, there are two of these never-used, new-in-the-box units available at salvage prices and I believe it offers an opportunity that's hard to ignore.

Feel free to PM me if you would like to discuss in private.
