This is a brief trip report on my latest trip. Started off at home in Chesterfield, Va heading out to the Dixielander Summer Rally in Dillard, Ga. ....seems like months ago. Had no problems to report except my cell phone battery died on Sunday morning as I was leaving for MT Dora, Fl to visit my daughter.
Got underway and at about noon typed in Radio Shack into my GPS and found one less than a mile up the road from me and he had my battery. Got to Mt Dora and hooked up before the sun went down. visited that week with my daughter and ate way tooo much. One side trip was to the COOP in Orlando and bought and mounted a fire suppression system to the refer compartment. Now have one each in the engine, refer and generator compartments.
Drove to Savannah and spent five days in the Visitors' Center Parking lot after paying $6 a day for a parking pass. Didn't bother to ask if I could sleep in the coach. Always felt it was easier to ask forgiveness than permission. Went well, was within walking distance of everything in the historical district. Then it was off to points north to Charleston, SC and Wilmington, NC for more living off the net.
Got home this morning to a pile of bills but had no (spelled ZERO) problems with the GMC for the entire trip and only used one quart of oil for the entire trip. The girl did well in the record temps over 100* F with no vapor lock problems or the such.
