These are the steps taken so far...
The Tail lights are clean.
Removed covers on all 10 clearance lights. Found 3 with disintegrated
connectors with just wires held up by a spring and 2 with some light
corrosion. Cleaned everything up, lights still grounded.
Checked license plate light, side lights (front and back ) and front lights
all ok.
Inspected trailer cable and connector. Blue Qx connector had broken wire but
otherwise OK
No crimped wire by frame.
Inside I removed dash left side upper and lower covers.
Went over the upper section cable bundles, wiring and connectors with
light and mirror looking for any evidence of heat damage. - nothing
lower section found fused connectors on Turn Signal flasher. Clipped and
taped wires until I can get replacement.
No change to ground problem.
Hazard Flasher OK
Ref: GMC MH 77-78 Maint Man X7725, 12-5, Figure 10 Instrument Panel ....
Control Harness
If I can get to and disconnect the Front Roof harness connector and the Rear
and ID Light connector that should isolate the problem. These look to be in
the driveršs side panel? Are they accessible?
