My wifes 93 Corolla has always had great a/c until last summer, then this summer its completely gone. Its always been an original system and it has the R12 nipple. I suspect after 17 yrs although the system is still 'sealed', and its a low miles vehicle only 115k, that the original charge eventually just leaked out.

My question is - can I just try loading HC12 in? Without a flush? I can evacuate it and even flush it I have to, but I think the system is still intact and sealed and would respond to a can or 2 or duracool, as long as it will not react negatively to such an R12 environment with no flush

?
