This beastie was discussed about a month ago, I believe.

As a newbie, I have a lot to learn, that's for sure. I gather
that this would autoswitch between "shore" power and genset,
and that without such a device, one would have to manually
connect the desired source.

That brings me to another question about AC power. I know that
boats have two versions of 240V AC power circuitry. One is
strictly 120 Volts at 50 Amps, and the other is 120 Volts either
side of neutral for a total of 50 Amps, meaning each 120 Volt
portion can draw a maximum of 25 Amps. Which of these systems
is in use in a GMC?

The reason I ask is that I have a line on an unused ITS-50R for
what seems to be a reasonable price and wonder if I should bite
this bullet now.

Thanks for any advice which is a mere smattering of what I'll need!
