Dan ,
Most Audio Products have an external Speaker connector ,when the external
Audio Cable is plugged in ,it disables the main Audio Speaker and then the
external Speaker works.
When you unplug the external audio cable, the main Speaker works again.this
is they way it works.
What do you mean it seems unnecessary ,he said he could not hear the Tom Tom
Speaker and he found a solution.
I have heard, the Tom TOM he has and it works great.
