Some background from "back then" on GMC Motorhome cooling changes:
1- During hot weather testing (using pre production prototypes)in the South West it was decided to use a 7 blade fan.
2- The air fences use began in mid model year 1977 with the introduction of the 403 cu in engine. While running changes are not too unusual, its introduction at the same time as the 403 has made me wonder if there was some connection with the engine change that required them.
Don't see the reason, just wondering.
