Well, I finished installing the Henderson Wiper conversion. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! Don't know why I waited so long to do it. IMO, this is an upgrade that everyone should do. Just a couple of comments.

1.) If you have a Powermaster MC, the PM reservoir interferes with the arms that control the passenger side wiper. To correct this, I had to do two things. First, I had to redrill the mounting holes so that I could mount the motor and adaptor plate 3/8" higher. (not a big deal) In addition, I had to heat up the wiper arms and bend them so that they would clear the PM reservoir.

2.) I decided that I wanted the new wiper controls to be mounted in the "slot" for the original wiper control on the dash. This means taking the dash apart to do it. There is a angle bracket spot welded behind the dash that holds the original wiper control. That angle bracket must be removed in order for the new controls to fit. To remove the bracket, I first removed the dash face plate. Then I drilled through the spot weld with a small pilot drill and then used a 1" hole saw to remove the rest of the spot weld. It leaves a 1" hole, but it is behind the dash plate where nobody can see it. After that a few special made slot washers assist in keeping the controls where they belong with out further damaging the dash.

3.) I would not recommend mounting the controls in the dash if it means taking the dash apart to do it. All of that old plastic just can't handle it. Seemed that everything I touched was so brittle that it broke. Looks like I'm gonna need a new dash.

Other than that FWIW, the Henderson kit is a well engineered kit that given normal circumstances is easy to install. It has excellent instructions that anticipate potential problems and give you appropriate warnings and work-arounds. An EXCELLENT upgrade!!
