When we leave home, we fill the tank from our home faucet. We use that
for drinking, dishes, etc.
When that is gone, we taste the local water after we run it through a
charcoal filter. If it tastes OK, we use it as we do home water. If it
doesn't, we buy bulk water from the grocery stores for drinking. Some
places have perfectly safe water that tastes like nothing I want to
drink, even after it's filtered. Oh, yeah, sometimes the local water
tastes OK, but tea and coffee made from it have an oily scum. That
disqualifies it, also.
