Hi Everyone,
Just taking a minute to introduce myself.
Last Fall I bought a 73 GMC from a Greatlaker named Bill Armstrong. Some may remember the coach as it has a completely custom interior made of birch and finished in wood tones. Bill was a cabinet maker by trade so the woodwork is wonderful.
The coach still needs a lot of work on the exterior. I plan to repaint it in the next month or so.
The chassis seems to be OK. I can see the rear frame rails are rusty and expect to do that job in the fall.
Overall the engine is in good running order and fires everytime I turn the Key. Trans Shifts fine. Brakes look and feel good.
The biggest driveability issue is that the coach shakes like crazy up to about 45-50 mph. To solve the issue, the current project is to replace the 16.5 bias ply's with 16" Eagles and Michelins. I should have that sorted out by the end of the week.
Next on the list is shocks. KYB's are on the way.
That's where I'm at for now.
Regards,
Ken Wolkens
