GMCMI interchange is not effective for 73my

While I am aware that putting the interchange book together is no simple task, it seems there is a issue that must be addressed.

In the 2009 edition, the part number listed is 724454 but with note that this is for 74 an later. The NAPA interchange listed for the throttle cable is 610-1411. In the application in my case to for my late '73 coach, just using this cable was not simple.

The diameter of the hole for the throttle lever was too small.
The engine end grip required a 1/8 shim to stabilize it.
The firewall grip required modification to fit in the space.
The cable core is too short. Read down and find out more.

This part got us through the rest of the season, but I have just realized that the ear on the upper end of the throttle pedal arm does not come near the kick down switch. I thought I had made all the required adjustments when I installed it so idle and WOT are both reached easily, but while working under the instrument panel I almost accidentally tested the kick-down switch and it did not work. Utho! Then I tested the switch itself. Utho again...

When I had finished cleaning and reinstalling the switch, it still did not work when it should have because the ear on the lever was 3/8 short of pushing it to full travel. There is room between the pedal and the floor for the extra travel, but the cable is at the end of its travel.

If you have the GMCMI interchange book and a '73 vintage coach. I suggest you go to page 11 and mark the NAPA cable number as a "Limp home replacement".

I'm sure how I'm going to correct my situation, but as I don't know what changed with the 74MY build, I don't have any confidence that I will be able to by an exact fit part.
