I jumped into the dashboard disassembly some more this morning and found a big source of my troubles. Apparently, at some point with a PO, there was a fire over at the extream right side of the dash. Don't know what might have caused it, as there isn't any wiring over there but, none the less. It melted the the ductwork that goes from the plastic Defroster Vent assembly down to the AC vent in the front of the dash and seems to have also melted the diaphram in the control servo. Won't hold and vacuum. The defroster duct also sustained some melting damage. Someone had duct taped (Isn't that what it's for? Laughing ) everything together but the lacking that vent functioning properly, the massive vacume leak AND the fact that the duct itself wasn't sealing to the inside of the dash where the vents are tells me I've found my problem. ALso, the Defroster vent, while functioning and holding vacuum, doesn't close all the way. It's about 3/4 inch from the sealing surface.

Anyway, I need the right side duct and servo from a 73. Anyone out there have some pieces parts?

Try Mike Bozart at GEMRECS. He probably has a coach that has the dash off already, and may have the parts available. I'm not sure if he's still taking orders (he was talking of getting out of the business), but he's a really good guy that should be supported if possible.

I think there are also some other members that have coaches for parting out. Hopefully, someone will chime in and get you back up and running.

If that does not work, I believe Gordon up in Nanaimo, BC had one he disassembled.
