I am sitting here watching the various New Years celebrations around North America and thinking about the great times I had this past year associating with all of the GMCers at the various rallies I attended. Here are some of them:

Bean Station, TN - Dixielanders - Al and Martie Samsel
Hamilton, OH - The Millers
Dothan, Alabama - GMCMI
Americus, GA - Ken Henderson and his Aunt
Pueblo, CO - GMCMI
Elkhart,IN - GMC Eastern States
Port Costa, CA - GMC 49ers
Lexington, KY - Eastern States - I did not stay for this one but I did pick up a truckload Eastern States stuff in Birmingham, AL and deliver it for the Lexington rally.

It was a mix of GMC club and non-club sponsored functions. All were just great and all were different in their own way from each other. Some of the clubs I belong to and some not. It made no difference member or not I was welcomed at all of the functions.

To some rallies I took my coach, some I took my Blazer or my Colorado pickup. At one I brought an SOB that I was transporting for someone else. It made no difference how I got there or what vehicle I used I was still welcomed by all.

At one rally I stayed with Roger Black as his "wife". At one rally I stayed with Chuck Boyd for a few days and at a local motel for the others.

All I want to say is thank you GMCers for your camaraderie and for all you have done for Laurie and me. If I started a list of names to thank I would forget someone and it probably would exceed the maximum message length on this forum.

So Thanks GMCers (and the vendors who support us). We really appreciate everything.

Have a prosperous and healthy 2010.

Ken,

One of these days I'll be able to attend a rally. Till then I'll have
to be envious of you and those who can.

I loved your post and hope that Oh'10 brings you to many more rallys.
I'll eagerly read your posts.

Happy New Year!

Ken,

Thanks for expressing my sentiments so well (even if I'm not Laurie).

Looking forward to an even better O-10.

Ken, more like hard headed son who didn't want to come in out of the

One thing that was good though, we could both snore all we wanted and
there was nobody to hear us with our duet all night. We could have
added Ken H and had an Alabama trio.

Not me, I've still got half an ear; sure wouldn't give that up for the
opportunity to spend the night with you two!

You must not have heard all the complaints next morning by folks who had
restless nights because of strange noises in the campground.

That was a good un. Everyone but me out looking for where the boom
came from. <G> Being the nice guy I am, I even helped the next door
neighbor check out his coach.

Two funnier guys, I just do not know, Ken B. and Roger B. I find it funny that Roger and Teri can just sit and talk and Roger seems to understand every word Teri says. Kinda wierd. I went to bed one nite and left them in Roger's den just talking away.
Yea, those were great gatherings Ken. I was at everyone of them but the Ca. one. I did ride across country with you though via the tracking system and telephone. I particularly enjoyed your calls from the rally itself.
I must say the same thing about the GMC people. Outsiders call us a cult. I say we are one big family. I have had emails, from our blog readers, who can not believe that Bob de Kruyff will travel 190 miles one way to help us with our brakes and that Jeff Willard is coming to our rescue also from over near Silver City. That in and of itself may have convinced a couple of families to buy a GMC motorhome.
Teri and I hope everyone has a very prosperous new year and we look forward to visiting with each one of you at upcoming gatherings.
Now, come on out to Quartzsite. We have a blast there.
Dan

Thanks for the reading Rob. I would say Ken is certainly a "mate" then. I just love aggrivating the fire out of him. One of the most helpful guys I know. We have been chatting on tele at night with him trying to help me with my brakes. He even volunteered to tow our vdub home after the paint job.
The GMC group has many "mates" among its ranks. I may be more fortunate than most as I seem to have gained many "mates". In the last 3 years, we have attended so many GMC gatherings. Teri and my interests have now shifted from the GMC to the actual happenings in everyone's families. We hope to continue earning "mates" in the upcoming 3 years.
Happy New Year to all.
