My Progressive Dynamics Inc. 7300 series converter
has quit working. It is only putting out 5.72/ 5.92 to the
battery and will not run the interior 12 volt lights.
Progressive Dynamics no longer service this model
(7345) so it looks like I might not be able to get it repaired.
I have not found anyone local to work on it. Is there a
way to regulate the the battery charge with the old BUZZ
BOX? Does anyone have a repair shop in their area
that might be able to repair my PD unit?

If you do decide to replace it, you may want to switch to Iota--much quieter.

I could not find a reference on the PD web site to model number 7345. Is that the correct number. Because it is discontinued, I suspect that it is not as good as the new ones with the charge wizard. If the converter is bad, I don't think I would try to have it repaired. For about $125.00 you can get a new PD9245 from several sources on ebay. It will do a much better job of charging and not over charging the batteries. It is one of the more popular converters discussed here. There are other good ones as well.
But first.
Have you removed all load from the converter and then checked it's output to make sure that it is not being loaded down by something in the system? Are the house batteries fully charged. What is their voltage with the converter disconnected? Will they run the lights when the converter is disconnected? Check these things and get back to us.

The 7345 was actually made by Magnetek. If I understand correctly
Magnetek was bought out by Progressive Dynamics and PD is no
longer servicing any of Magnetek's products. This unit is about 8 years
old and as near as I can tell it did/does have all the bells and whistles
the units produced today have. It is a solid state unit with switch mode
converters and full charging capabilities with two step battery charging.
Not a wizard but it did sence charge and stopped when battery was fully
charged As has been pointed out the new units with the charging wizard
are probably the best way to go. Price is with in range of what I expected
to pay for repairs to my old unit. For those who asked how my battery
was and how the unit was failing I will try to explain. When house battery
is fully charged by outside source house lights work. First problem was
the cooling fan in the 7345 unit quit working. I added an auxiliary fan
and things went back to working. Shortly there after the battery
charging board went out and the house battery drained. As long as
I was plugged into shore power the 7345 continued to work the lights.
When not plugged in battery drained and would not recharge from 7345.
It appears both house and battery functions have quit working. The
unit is not heavy enough for a boat anchor so I guess I give it to a friend
for parts. Thanks to all for their replies.
