Time for everyone to put there thinking caps on! Someone (might have
been druber) made a comment on using the Olds 350 Diesel oil pan
gasket on the GMC Olds engine a while back. Which motor, 455 or 403?
Any other information and why????

John,

Bob Drewes told me to use the 350 diesel oil pan gasket because it had a
steel core and wouldn't squish out.

That reminded me of how good Olds was at sharing parts between the big block and the small blocks where ever possible.

Sir: Auto-Zone shows Fel-Pro oil pan gasket # OS30471C as standard for the 350 diesel and is shown as optional for the 455 and 403.

Sure am glad you posted that, Chuck. Now when I want to find it, I can just
search GMail for "oil pan gasket", or something similar and this'll pop
right up!

One of the benefits of GMail.

Did I mention that it threads messages MUCH more efficiently and usefully
than the forum? It only expands already read ones if requested so you see
only the unread text of each.
