I just tried to start my coach, inserted the key and the buzzer and Door warning light came on. Turned to start and the light went out and I did not even get a solenoid click, nothing. Checked the ground and found it tight, just drove it the other day. Tried Battery Boost and same thing. All Batteries are charged, tried another good 12v battery and got the same thing.
I am looking at the Isolator, is that something that could cause this?

I'd check the Neutral/Park safety switch at the bottom of the steering column.
Move the shifter to Neutral, see if that works, or move the shifter from neutral to park a couple times.
If you have a test light or volt meter you can check to see if you are getting starter solenoid power through that switch.
I believe both wires are purple coming off the switch.
Update:
Here is an excellent writeup Gene did not long ago along with a link to pictures of a workaround for it:

Thanks for the lead/s, I have read and believe I understand what Mr Fisher did.
To test the switch is there any reason why I could not jump across the two purple leads?, basically eliminating the switch?

The other thing to check out is the ignition switch itself. It is right above the safety switch and bolted vertically onto the steering column. It is operated by a rod that comes down from the key. There are adjustment slots in the two screws that hold it. It may be that the rod is not sliding the switch quite far enough. The sequence is Ignition- Accessories off- Start as the rod pulls the switch though its stages. So, the lights go off before the solenoid is activated.

I jumped the neutral switch and still get nothing. I turned on the headlights and the radio, and they still worked as I engaged the switch, (no dimming) so it looks like I have good power, something between the neutral switch and the starter ?????
I have looked at the wiring diagram in the manual but I am also NOT a good Electrical person <vbg>
Certainly appreciate your kind assistance.

Thanks everyone, it is/was the neutral switch. I tried jumping it earlier but did not have good contact, made up a new jumper with bayonets and it started right away.
Now the $64.00 question. Is this switch really needed? , would any of you bypass it completely ?
It was a very good learning session. You folks are very gracious.
Thanks once again.

Well that's a bit risky. I would do it temporarily, but one of these days, you'll forget, have your foot on the gas and procede to start it--those things tend to happen especially when you are flustered by something. These switches are readily available, so I'd replace it.

RIchard,
Sometimes the switch is not activated -- you can move the gear selector through the range and back into park and it will start. You might try this before you set out to replace the switch.
Glad you got it started,

Thanks, BTW I do have and use a Volt Meter and it was the reason I found my original jumper was not connected.
I will replace the switch.

Gene thanks, I looked at your photos, not sure that I follow what you said about running a wire to the fuse block though.
The pigtail in the photo I thought went to the Button that you said you installed under a cover. Is this wire what you connected to the fuse block and if so, do you then start normally? turn key etc, is this a kind of bypass of the neutral switch?
I thought I understood it but now thinking about it I'm confused. <VBG>
It does not take a lot to confuse me anymore.

No this is how to start using an external start switch.
If the jumper to bypass the Neutral/start switch works, Then just leave it
that way.
However, if the key still does not work to start the GMC, then you can hook
that wire I show to some other 12 volt source and use an external switch
like I show in the drawings. You can sort out the problems when you have
more time, but this will get you home.....
the "IGN" connection I talked about is just a 12 volt source that is easy
to find (on the fuse block) and you could use for an external start switch.
If the Key does not start the GMC, nothing is going to help that but to
replace or repair the components in the steering column.
but you can use an external start switch until such time as you get around
to fixing these switches.
keep asking questions until this becomes clear ;>)
gene
turn key etc, is this a kind of bypass of the neutral switch?
