Ken,
It came out of one of AJ Marshall's coaches. I never saw it installed but
I did discuss the installation with him. I tried to check the Mott phone
number at 814 Area code and it appears it might still be a good number.
Not sure A.I. Mott is still alive but the number is still a Mott number. I
don't
know where A.J. got the door. Since I have a Birch door on my coach
I am thinking about selling it. A couple locals have shown some interest.
It is very well constructed. Good structural frame and rigid piano hinge
full length of door. It is a heck of a lot more sturdy than the Birch door.

Charles,
(814) is a Pennsylvania area code. Try Googling it .
Central PA around Erie area. Problem is that they have split the area codes.

I bought a powered entry step (vacuum) from Mott in the mid 80's and was aware they also had built a screen door. The original designer (A.I.Mott) had passed on and a son or grandson was the one I dealt with back then. Somewhere in my files I have the original sales flyer for the screen door.
The power step used a 70's Corvette headlight vacuum accuator, had to replace it at least once which was quite expensive. Also the step was held in the open position by a spring and if the coach was parked with the front down hill, the step could slide closed when you stood on it. Not a pretty picture and decided it had to go.
Merry Christmas to all

Bill,
That sounds like the vacuum step Pete Papas gave me several years ago.
I've always wondered what the vacuum actuator came from although I've
had no problem with this one. I had to redesign it to swing opposite
for the 23'. It does have the swing tendency you mention but since I
seldom get on a hill it's not a significant problem -- though it is
one I have plans to correct.
Here are photos & sketch I posted several years ago:

Ken,
That looks pretty much like the one I had, with slight variations. Don't remember the diamond plate step, seems like it had a rubber cover. The vacuum cylinder doesn't look just like the one I had, could be my remembering isn't that keen. There was also a vacuum switch (which I had mounted on the fire wall) to bring the step out when the door was opened with the motor running.
