JimB posted on this new Ethanol resistant barrier hose a few days ago. I've
been searching for local & online sources and haven't found much. I'm
curious if anyone else has found any sources? I guess I could buy direct
from the CO-OP, but shipping makes the purchase cost go up.
While on the Barricade subject, I found a recall related to this hose. The
recall doesn't specify if the hose itself is at fault due to design faults,
or if the hose was wrongly selected for the application.

Hopefully this hose is not subject to failures as described in the recall.
Jim B, I think you need to look into this a little closer to see what the
failure was caused by. Wouldn't want you to recommend a faulty product.

It looks to me like the company recalling the kits is doing the
recall not because the hose is bad but because they used
the wrong size for the application. There is nothing wrong
with the Barricade hose and if you do have a problem with
it Gates will stand behind their products. I sent Gates two
feet of bad 3/8 inch hose I replaced in 2001 last year with
my original purchase ticket and they replaced all 50 feet.
No questions asked.

It is not the cost of the hose, but the labor time.
Guess who always get stuck with the labor cost.

Thanks Dan, I really don;t see the specialy dealer network to be the only place to get this stuff, I mean you can buy fuel hose all over the place. it's true it will be the right stuff cause it's what we use and the cost will be comparable when purchased in quantity.
If your coach is not leaking I understand when you say it does not make sense to do it right now. I would tell you though, keep an eye under your coach when filling the tanks, watch for drips. The biggest scare I have is a hose crack and suck air under load which will starve the motor acting like a clogged filter. Cracked hoses is one of those situations you can hunt for hours for a problem when the problem is a hose that leaks under certain conditions.
I am gratified that folks are taking this fuel delivery issue seriously, it has become a % of the work we have coming off the road with people coming down for the season. Folks all the tiome use "doom & gloom" and scare new and prospective GMC owners-- I did not bring this issue up to do that rather to let those understanding the issue be proactive in preparing themselves for traveling. If you have the chance, inspect and replace old or damaged hoses, if not at least have parts and tools with you that can help in the time of need.

Jim B. When I get ready to do it I will call you and get it. We are leaving for Az. this week so replacing the hoses is not at the top of my list right now. By purchasing from you I know I got the right stuff.
Thanks,
Dan
