This is a good find and another alternative for the older fuel hoses
such as the R7 hose. I use the Goodyear fuel injection hose SAE J30R9
which is also a barrier hose with a blue flouroelastomer liner which

Gooodyear fuel hose SAE 30R9 is good for extended ethenol and all the other bad stuff now in gasoline. This is what I put everywhere on fuel system this summer, it cost a lot more than the new Gates hose. I hope it holds up as well as the Gates hose claims it will.

Rob,
I also still have some of the SAE 30R7 hose on the coach. I run an
external fuel filter on the line where the mechanical fuel pump would
have connected to the metal line going up to the carb. I do not have
a mech. fuel pump as I have my own designed electric fuel system.
(Since 2001) I do not run a filter in the carb itself as the second
filter takes its place. I also have a filter just before the Carter
P4070 pump in the back just after the selector valve. I change the
filters once in the spring and fall, about every 4K miles. The R7
hose was a big upgrade over the older gas rated rubber hoses that we
all used in the past. I really wouldn't be that concerned with it
failing anytime too soon because as you pointed out it is also rated
for todays gasolines, The R9 hose would appear to be considerably
more bullet proof as well as the Gates hose. I have always used
Goodyear hoses in the past and I ran across a deal on 5/16" & 3/8" R9
hose on some partial rolls for $1.50 a foot last month. Your are
correct, the Goodyear is a higher pressure rated hose than the Gates,
but that would depend on if you used it on the high pressure side of a
fuel injection system. For almost application the Gates hose is very
acceptable too.
