I'm really striking out locally: I have a damaged cylinder head bolt on my 455 and I can't find even a man mall that has anything old enough. Anybody out there have a scrap engine they can pull a bolt from? Or??

doesn't Mondello or Summet Racing have those? may have to buy a set but that isn't a bad idea.

Gary,
When I junked my 455 I kept the head bolts, but they are mixed in with a lot of other misc bolts I've aquired over the years. If you have dimentions and a picture, send them to me, I'll dig up several of them and send to you.

Try a local independent auto parts store. Most have a good selection of "Dorman" bolts. Bring in the old one and they can match it up. I doubt AZ or Advanced will have it. You could also order one from a GM dealer.

Yes, but they want to sell a whole set for something like $120. I'm too cheap, I guess. And yes, some will recommend new bolts every time, but...

He is looking for one of the bolts that has the stud sticking out the
top to hold the fan shroud bracket. I don't use them so I guess I will
send him one. Gotta do something before Christmas or I won't get
anything under the tree...........terry

Buy a stud kit from Summit. Pay attention to the torque specs though,
much different than bolts. Studs hold better with less torque.
