After a long project to replace my old Onan with a Generac Prime-pac 50, I finally was able to get it installed and running today. As we have a snowstorm coming in the next day, I think I was really lucky to have it done! It did fit into the space on my 26 foot GMC like it was made for it, so it may be an option since the Hondas are no longer available. Only a little cutting and some basic welding to fabricate some brackets to mount the generator, everything else was basically a bolt-in proposition. Obviously, I don't have any long-term use reports yet, but it seems to start and work well.
A quick shout-out and a very big THANK-YOU to Miguel Mendez for his long-distance advice and hints on doing this install myself. If it wasn't for his advice and encouragement, I don't think I would have had the courage to do the install my myself.
The GMC List and our vendors are truly the best and I appreciate all the help I've received on all my projects so far. May everyone have a peaceful and healthy holiday season!

Great George. I hope to see your install sometime. I ran my Onan and air conditioner for about 30 minutes today. The old thing has never given me a minute's worth of trouble. I know Miguel is great to help folks. I hope to meet him one of these days.
Try to keep the snow in Chicago. Teri and I are headed to Topeka Graphics at 3 am.
