Greetings from SW FL.

I am trying to figure out if I have broken something in my Winegard crank up antenna.

Cranking up and down is easy but trying to move it's rotational position was impossible from the inside of the coach. So up I went and with only a little pressure managed to twist the antenna on it's vertical axis.

Little "clicking" sounds as it moved about 90 degrees. Now I feel no resistance whatsoever from inside the coach when trying to move it.

Is there a place I might get a cut-away drawing showing the workings of the antenna so I can see if I did "snap" something when I twisted it around?

Trying to get a decent picture on my TV is not always easy!

Peter,
The directional handle with pointer that you use to turn the antenna
from the inside has two plastic splines 180 deg apart that fit into
the two keyways on the metal antenna shaft. My guess that if you
take the elevation turn crank handle off and then drop out the
directional handle when you look inside the splines are missing. The
part is available a most RV stores and the number is RP-6200 for the
Ivory and RP-6300 for the white and it is under $10.

there is a cap on the very top of the unit. remove it; take off the nut and you can withdraw the crank for cleaning and lub. should be done every couple of years.

Thanks Gents,

The Directional Handle had split all the way down either side of the spline. All I have to now is get a deed socket 15/16" that will fit up the hole to release that very tight nut. Guess what? I don't have a small walled socket - off shopping tomorrow.

I bet the antenna has not been lubed for a long time. New parts (RP-6200 priced at under $%) on their way already.

Thank you again for taking the time to reply.
