It comes back to what I reported several weeks ago; Alcoa told me they make
production runs as demand dictates and recalled wheels are turned in.
When someone sez "Alcoa has stopped producing the 160231 wheels" they are
probably right at that instant in time, but Alcoa will eventually get
around to making another production run; one may have to wait to get their
wheels. I was lucky, when I finally decided to turn my recalled wheels in
(after waiting 6 or 7 years), they had just started a production run and I
had the new wheels in about 4 days, no questions asked. Now why was I
waiting for so long?? I was calling Alcoa every year asking when they
would be making the 160231 in the "evershine" or "nevershine" or whatever
it is. I was told to call back in 6-9 months. I finally gave up because
my tires were now 11 years old and I couldn't wait any
longer....................
