A new Ohio law states your headlights must be on any time the wipers are on. I don't know if other states have this law.
I added a relay and switch to make this happen. The switch is connected to the on/off arm on the wiper motor. When the wipers are turned on the switch goes to ground bringing in a relay. This puts power to the dimmer switch which puts 12 volts to the headlights. I am using power from a fused ignition circuit that way this will only bring on the headlights when we are driving.
This is set to work with the hyd. wiper motor. If you are lucky enough to have Ken's electric wipers system I am sure this is probably easier to do.
Since our GMC is under cover I haven't tried this out in the real world yet. If anyone can see a problem with this please let me know.

Having the headlights on when the wipers are on has been a law in Virginia for a number of years. One of the few things government has done that makes sense. We also have a law that motorcycle head light(s) must be on at all times. Being a rider I agree with it and like both laws.

North Carolina has had a law requiring headlights on when wipers are in use.

NJ does also but I believe it's a secondary transgression. I don't think you can be pulled over for it, but they can tack it on to the ticket if they get you for something else...

Rain-x also solves that problem. No wipers, No headlights

That way my smart remark for the day.

I wonder if DRLs meet the requirement of that law. I realize we do not have DRLs on GMCs,
