Mitch: I thought the ol girl looked pretty good. Looks original paint and stripes. 50K miles. Frame inspection would tell a lot. Got some nice baggage with her also!!

maybe its just me, but i look at her
and i see the old girl sitting in a field
buried to the axels, she looks unloved, just dying a slow death

and i may still be wet behind the ears concerning gmcs
but i think its a safe bet she won't be selling for the
$5000 he is asking, we don't even know according to the ad
wheather it starts? which means in all probability it will
continue to sit there.

in doing my own research and saving every cent i can to purchase
my own gmc (still trying to sell the searchcam 2000 Any search and rescue teams?)
i have seen several coaches over the last six months that were not buried to the axels and at least started and ran
in the $1000 to $2000 range that required multiple lisings untill they sold.

and in fact i have seen more than a couple in the $5000 to $6000
that looked quite nice.

sorry if i sound somewhat frustrated, and i don't mean to take it out on you
i guess i will just leave it here at that

best wishes
Mitch

Well, the listing did say that the coach
went into non-use status due to a death.

"Stuff" happens. Too bad, it doesn't
look all that terrible.

Sitting in a field for 5 yrs is nothin. Mine sat for 13 yrs and the interior was totally destroyed by vermin. Still, its a bad time to be trying to get 5 grand for this beast. That would be a tough get in good times. He needs to clean it up and park it somewhere nicer, then it might sell but not for that. Otherwise 5 yrs will turn into ten and beyond. I suspect this guy has no idea what its true worth is and didnt do his homework looking at what other coaches are selling for in what condition, etc.

Yes, right now is a great time to buy a GMC-- to buy most anything!  Actually, if you think about it, it would be a good move to buy a better coach than you could before.  The more the previous owner does the better your deal is because it will always cost you more to do things that the PO will get from doing them.

2 years ago, $10K would buy you a descent core that needs everything, today that will get you a pretty descent driving unit.  That is the real deal!  Buy a "turd" and no matter what you pay for it, the restoration will still cost you "X" if you have to do everything!

Right now you can buy a coach that has over $100K in it for $42K-- now thats a deal!

Just some advice from someone who people have do all of that "X".  Buy cheap will usually cost you more in the end,

5 grand with all the goodies would be a good starting place for the guy I suspect about 4 grand is about right for all of it 1500 for the GMC and 2500 for the goodies.
