My 1972 Revcon had an empty space there was an original non-working buzzbox but it was disconnected.
Pretty sure Revcon and GMC used the same early converter.
In the hole I found three sets of wires;
One is obviously AC, i connected the AC side of my converter to it.
The other pair was hot to the battery, i connected that,
The third is a heavy pair of wires with a smaller third green wire.
This set of wires appears to be AC - (with a third leg for ground)
That one is the mystery-
As i connected it everything works the way it's supposed to, the converter provides DC and charges the battery, etc
The generator provides power to a plug at the rear where the external power cord is connected. The Generator also provides 12V to the batteries
Yes, I realize it could be anything a previous owner added, removed or left behind, but so far this coach appears to be VERY original. It has very low mileage and hardy anything has been touched.
And there is no documentation.
But I'm a decent electrician and if I get a few good WAGS it will send me in the right direction.
Thanks

Dave,
Have you looked at the wiring diagrams on bdubs site?

The only reason I can think of having 2 sets of AC wires back there is for an inverter (line in and load out). It would have to have been a modification at some point if that were true, though. The DC 12v. wires would have to be much heavier than original in that case as well. One other thought, maybe something else was stuck in that area on a RevCon (like a GMC vacuum cleaner or some other appliance). Just a couple of thoughts.

What gauge and color are the wires? That should give you a clue. If they are 14 or even 12 gauge and black, white, and green, then they are probably 120 VAC.
Also measure the wires to ground. If the green and white read 0 ohms to ground then again probably 120VAC.

Dave,
I checked:
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Revcon_Curious/
and can't see this question posted there, did I miss it?
They might be able to help more than the folks here can.
