Hell's bells, there ought to be at least $300 worth of
usable parts on the thing! Getting it moved, however,
would be something else again. Come up with two wheels
with tires and you could have it hauled to some cheap
storage lot for temporary storage.

I don't have the URL here at work for the company that
seems to keep track of all the GMCs, but I can't believe
that it wouldn't be worth a restoration for the price
quoted.

He started at a higher price and I forwarded the info to someone I know in that area. She contacted him, got pictures, was close to some kind of deal and he dropped communication.

So it may not be completely dead. No one has looked at it and reported to us here what the story is.

I can tell you the demand for parts is great. If I lived a few hundred miles closer I would not hesitate to pay the $300 and subsequent towing and take my chances that I could either have a viable coach or make my money back.

Just for reference I paid $375 for the Transmode and $800 to have it flat-bedded on a Landoll for 90 miles. I figure for the value of the parts I will be about scratch.

G'day,

Looks like I got a real deal! It cost me $600 to move the Avion I bought off
eBay for parts from Baltimore to Knoxville (575 miles) by putting it on

Agree if you've got the time time to search a deal you can do better than I did. I had to "giter done" asap to get if off the tow lot now. Although the guy at the tow lot said I got a real good price compared to Chicagoland pricing.

Steve,

Did you ever attempt to get the transmode running? An
operational piece might be a good return on investment.

No attempt yet. I'm still focused on getting the MH projects completed. If I don't need any parts off the transmode for Smurffie I may attempt to get it running. Right now it has no radiator or batteries and the wiring and steering column is pretty hacked up. I have gutted the carpet and paneling as they were wet and moldy.

greetings all

just wanted to kind of put an ending on the story of this 1973
gmc

i emailed the owner inquiring whatever became of the gmc
because he had said he had to get it moved quickly,
and not suprisingly his reply was that it had gone to the junkyard for $700

for those like me that often wonder what happens to things like this, at least we know this time

There can't be that many junk yards in Utica. Call them up and when you find the one that has it, tell them how much Cinnabar gets for a new front cap ($10K). I'll bet he let's it take up some space for a while if he thinks he can sell some parts off it. He has to realize what his $700 bought him.
