I'm thinking of installing a second A/C unit in the rear and am wondering if my 76 Palm Beach is pre-wired or what I need to do to get a second unit running. I plan to install it myself. Any advice or suggestions appreciated. Thanks guys.

I don't think that there is a 120 volt wiring connection back there. My 75 Palm Beach had the rear AC connected to 120 volts by some jumper wires from the overhead outlet in the hallway (not the best idea as they were connected via the receptacle screws - a big no no in house wiring). Probably the best way would be to run a seperate line down to the electrical breaker box.

Lance when I bought my '77 Kingsley it had a "Fantastic" vent/fan in the rear so I installed an AC in that hole. There were 120 volt connections already there.

If you have a 50 amp service, the 120 v line is already installed. If 30 amp and a fan in the rear, it is probably there. I would look for it before removing anything that would break the weather seal before I was ready to install the A/C.

Your mileage may vary, as P.O.'s may have made other choices for you.

Look at your Breaker box. If it is prewired, it will have a second breaker labeled AC. My 77 Kingsley is this way.
