Just bought a new pair of leather Odyssey seats, off of E-Bay for $150.00 plus $145.00 freight. Arrived today, I modified them for a 7" swivel base with a 3/4" additional lift to the front.

Honda does not do justice to them so close to the floor, these seats were made for a GMC.

I have been taking pics, that I will post up later this week.
Modifications were so simple, removed mechanism that connected to Honda floor track, leaving the for/aft track on the seat. Added a 1 3/8" square tube to the forward bolts and a 3/4" square tube to the back mount. Drilled holes in tubing to fasten seat to swivel base.

My PO had put in the swivel bases, only problem was in mounting it to the floor, he put in nuts and bolts into plywood, no washers, sucked nuts halfway through plywood, By moving swivel base 2" backward, mounts then go through metal member, that holds the seat belts.

Seats are the MOST comfortable automotive seat that I've ever sat in.

Thinking of getting another seat for my house

Excuse the newbie, but I see a lot of Honda seats going in GMC's. Is this
because they are an easy retrofit? Or just coincidence?? Please enlighten
the newbie.

Mainly cheap. There was a guy in Phoenix about 8 months ago that had 150
sets for sale at $125.00 per set. I drove and got 10 sets. One set for me
and the rest for some other folks on the list. I think he sold like 90 sets
just to GMC owners in the Southwest. He charged $100 or so for shipping
from Phoenix but it was still a good deal. They are pretty comfortable. I
had my original GMC seats re-upholstered and then decided to put the Honda
seats in and a huge difference. It is now more comfortable to drive the GMC
700 miles than in my Grand Cherokee. (The GMC also has better suspension I
might add).

Thanks

I bought a set of Odyssey seats from a handicapped conversion van retro company.

The name of the company that has the seats is Rollx Vans located in Savage,
Minnesota. There website address is http://www.rollxvans.com/Index.aspx .
Their phone number is 1-800-956-6668. Ask for Bill Walker or email him at
ebay@rollxvans.com.

Paid $200/ set. Nice people to deal with. When I stopped there, they had several pallets of seats from every imaginable brand of van. Their factory is at least a block long and I saw probably 30 vans in various stages of conversion. If they don't have the color you want, he told me to let him know what you want and it is likely he would have them sometime in a couple of months.

Seat bases are a Mens Mall item, are used in lots of RV's and van conversions. I will post pictures later this week.
E-Bay seller was "4golub", had a 'best offer' item, I bid he accepted. There is van conversion business in Pheonix as well, that is where these came from. These seats are as close to new as you can get.
I wasn't actually planning to do the seats right now, but couldn't pass up on the price. Glad that I did. side note .I placed ad on Craigs list for the old seats, asking $150.00. Accepted $100.00 within hours of placing advert. Local guy is recovering them for his boat.
Now those are cheap seats!!!!!!!!!
