'Need sealant for repairing holding tank leak.
Details:
'Have drip at bottom of gray water tank tank near outlet. 'Appears to have
been caused by rock (or other?) on recent return from CO. IIRC, the tank
material is polypropylene. I sealed a similar leak about 15 years ago at my
home in Alaska using a product for repairing leaks in fishing waders. 'Still
have some of that but it is in the Airstream in Alaska. 'Don't remember the
name of the sealant. It was the only one of several sealants I tried that
woud adhere to polypropylene (if that is the correct material).
Does anyone have a recommendation for a sealant that works for this
application? 'Have some fiberglass and resin but didn't try that on earlier
leak. 'May not adhere to tank material...
Thanks,
Fred Hudspeth

Fred
Today at Lowes I purchased Loctite All Plastics binder for $3.77.
Small tube similar to super glue. Claims to work on poly pro and
ethyl. Plan to use for repair of black tank fitting.
On another thread 3M 8005 was mentioned but I believe it requires a
specal caulk gun.

Fred,
Take a look at these pictures:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=28384
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=28385
The text below the photos explains what / how I did it.
I need to mention that I sanded the areas that the doublers are stuck to
with very coarse sandpaper and cleaned it thoroughly with Acetone.
So far so good no leaks!
