This might be a dumb question, but I was cleaning out my garage and found a pair of spare air bag cones. How can I tell if they're aluminum or plastic? My coach has the aluminum ones, but it is currently at the storage lot 10 miles away so I can't compare them. The ones in the garage appear to be plastic and have some code numbers engraved into the back.

Nick;
The aluminum ones will ring if hit with a wrench. They will shine if
you scratch one with a knife. They will also dent if hit with a hammer
while the plastic ones will break.

Thanks. They were plastic, so I'm tossing them. I know some people use them as cup holders, but they are a bit large for my taste.

Yes,
I could use one for a cup holder on my John Deere.

I can only see one use for the plastic cones. They are a great way to collapse a bag so it can be stored in a smaller space. If a bag and cones was ordered from GM it came in a significantly shorter box than a box that only contained a bag w/o cones.
