I'm thinking of selling my screen door unit from a 1976 Birchaven , complete with hinges. don't know how to ship it, with the curve and all. In very good condition.
My awning is just in front of the door and will only open about 90 degrees.
It is a "BIRCH" door...........
Please send offers <jmps@pacbell.net>

I don't know if anyone wants this information or not, but I bought a used screen door, in good condition, from someone at the Dothan Convention who no longer wanted it. If either party is interested, I will reveal the price I paid and how it broke down. If you don't think it will help, just ignore this message.
Thanks,

i just shipped one (today) UPS ground for about $35. I made big envelope out of two layers of cardboard with the hinges and hardware in the middle. The dimensions just make it at that price- 74 X 26 X 3
Another inch anywhere and jumps to $90
I'll let you know if it doesn't make it.

How did you get a 3" depth, mine without cardboard is like 7" to 8" ?????????????

I don't know exactly what UPS rules are about dimensions but I found a vendor who sells a GMC screen door for $400 and charges $35 shipping- UPS ground.
So it was less than three inches thick but it would be about 8 inches tall, laying flat. I'm hoping UPS sees the thickness and not the actual cubic footage it displaces.
I also drilled off the hinges.
