I took pictures of the 74 that I may be parting out.

Here's the story as I pieced it together from receipts and new looking parts. I may be wrong, much of this is just an educated guess.
The rig had a ton of work done in 1998- $8000 in mechanical, including a new engine. The paint scheme and the upholstery look pate 90's as well.
There is a military base pass exp 2002. Those are usually good for a couple years.
It appears to be stocked and ready to go, lost of stuff in the cabinets.
My guess is that the last real owner did an extensive remodel in 98, interior, exterior, mechanicals, and then he died sometime before 2002.
The vehicle was donated to a charity. it sat for a while and was then auctioned off, the last guy to buy it abandoned it and took the keys and the title. It is being sold by a shop.
Somewhere along the way someone noticed the frame rot.
So, there is a complete, nice modern interior. all the cushions are good,
The blinds look good. I tested several, they went up and down nicely.
Mechanically I can't tell much. one airbag is holding, the other seems blown
I didn't see anything that looked 35 years old
I think this thing is a gem.
IS it really that hard to fix a rotted frame?

My plan is still to part it out but I'd be open to giving that up if someone could handle the frame problem

The Duramax shuttle bus transmographication will cost $60K for the rolling chassis alone - and that is a 2-year old price. You REALLY need to love the GMC ALOT and have another $50K to finish the job, although a certain professional actor has spent what I would estimate as $200K on his particular project coach, which looks like it is almost complete.
It is a commitment few would be willing to make, but you end up with something very unique; if that's what you are after, you may just have found the right source.
Jim's shop documents much of their work (and life) in an online blog called The Daily Pose (http://www.gmccoop.com/dailypose.htm), as in "strike a pose" for today's happenings. You will learn alot.

All old car projects are like this if you have to farm the work out you will have a lot more invested than its value. You have to balance your love of the end product against your disposable toy money. Saw a post on the Shelby forum where a guy spent 4600 for some fabrication - parts to do the same job are available in the aftermarket for about 1000 but he wanted the look of custom built pieces.
I've looked at the pictures of the Duramax chassis and it's easy to see where the money has been invested when you add up the shop time and what skilled labor costs today. Of course chassis #2 etc should be a little cheaper as you don't have to re-add the hours of engineering that went into chassis 1.

Sorry- the entire interior, screen door and fender flares are gone.
I'm kepeing the fridge and most of the internal RV parts.
The hubs and knuckles are also spoken for.
Remaining is the rest of the drive train and suspension. I hope to test drive it this week to determine what's good and what ain't.
