Good Morning

Does anyone have the contact persons name at Topeka Graphics ? Also, do they have a web-site? I couldn't find one searching google.

I'm just about ready for my paint job and I'd like to get an estimate from them. I'm thinking I would run the coach down there after the first of the year/spring and pick it up several months later, then I'd be all set for next years season.

Thanks

Ray

Ah, I think the GMC list strips out all binary attachments (in addition to a
very low 1500 kb limit on text). It was attached when I sent it (and still
is for the copy in my sent items box). Here's a cut-paste:

Ray,
I'd be interested in hearing from you when you find out how much they want for a repaint. Two years ago I asked for a quote and got one at $6500.00 A little high for me. Just wondering if prices have gone down with the economy being what it is...

Ray,
You can reach Larry Bontranger at Topeka at 260-593-2009. Does not

Talked to Larry several months ago and his base price had climbed to
just over $4000 with adders adding maybe a $1000 more. If you prep
your coach and reinstall removed items you can cut the cost somewhat.

But Topeka, IN is 1000 miles closer to Ray than JimB. Also glad to hear JimB has decided to offer various levels of painting services. Not everyone can justify spending the $$ for JimB's top line work. I suspect from his comments I have read here that this was not an easy decision for him, but it gives some of us another paint option for our GMC's.

Actually the only GMC I have ever seen in the process of being painted at Topeka had ALL of the lights, the grill, the side windows, rear ladder and roof pod removed. They told me they were going to install new LED type clearance lights when they were done.

I was there to pick up a ladder that one GMCer chose not to reinstall after painting. The ladder went to a 3rd GMCer in Salt Lake City.

I have seen many GMCs and SOBs that they have done and the work is great for the price. I have never had any work done there myself.

Ray,
Why not plan to join us at our GMCES rally in Elkhart IN on Oct 15-18 and you will be only ~30 miles away from Topeka. You could kill 2 birds . . . For more info on our rally go to www.gmceast.com

Jim,
Not entirely true, it depends on what you ask for. When they did mine
they removed everything but the TV antenna, AC unit itself, rear view
mirrors which I ask them not to touch and the rear marker light that I
had just installed. You all can review my Topeka paint job pictures at:

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showgallery.php?cat=3675

You can see the finished paint job at this album.

http://homepage.mac.com/powwerjon/PhotoAlbum3.html

Our design was just copied this past spring by another GMCer who had
his coach painted at Topeka.

When I had this done in the spring of 2002 it cost just a little over
$3800. This was a 4 color paints, extra body work and painted
graphics. Larry's pricing today has gone up somewhat but not out of
line. If your interested give him a call a 260 593-2009. Because of
the slow down his pricing might be better that you expect.

I will be at Topeka after the GMC Great Lakers and GMC Eastern states
rally to have some OOP's and dings fixed on Monday and Tuesday.

Let me also say this, that if Jim B is offering a competitive paint
work pricing then by all means have him paint your coach if your with
in range of his shop, he does excellent work.

Only reason I will take mine to Jim B. is that he does help our community in
ways that others do not even care to do.
He is not having an easy time surviving during these days as things are
slow.
Lot of the people do not have the slightest idea as to what we stock and
tell the world that you can buy it on the net for less.

Ray, if you or anyone else need a place to park overnight when you get in
the area, we have plenty of room, and live about 25 miles from Topeka
Graphics. Could probably arrange for a ride to the airport for you too.

Subject: [GMCnet] Topeka Graphics

Good Morning

Does anyone have the contact persons name at Topeka Graphics ? Also, do
they have a web-site? I couldn't find one searching google.

I'm just about ready for my paint job and I'd like to get an estimate from
them. I'm thinking I would run the coach down there after the first of
the year/spring and pick it up several months later, then I'd be all set for
next years season.

Thanks

Ray

Chris,

Bruce got his first coach (the one I now have) painted in Puerto Pinasco, Sonora.  They did a passable job, especially for the price (reportedly $2500.00)  The detail work is not very good and their prep work left a lot to be desired.  Bottom line, It shines up pretty well, and looks good from a few feet away. It is allegedly Imron.

Chri$,
I e-mailed Tom Bradley and asked him who painted Bruce's second coach.  Here is his reply:

"I do not know where Bruce had his coach painted here but know that he was not happy with it."

Not much help, I know.  I do think he had the second one painted in the Phx. area somewhere.
