I am working of a varitey of things trying to get ready for our first trip of the season.

While working under the sink in the bathroom I noticed I have a leak in the fresh water line.

I wish I could blame the PO, but it was I that installed the fitting 15 years ago.

The fitting is incorrect for going from the original plastic fitting to the braided water line I installed when I installed the tank less water heater.

Anyone know what adapter I should use?

Thanks,

You could use a house type chrome sink supply shut off valve so the flex line seals to it correctly. Since you are running home type flex after that point.

The brass fitting looks like it might be cross threaded? At any rate I would fell a lot better if that plastic t was brass or stainless I think you have too much weight hanging on it.

Thanks for responding.

The fitting is not cross threaded and it is supported.

It's apparently a compression fitting and I didn't use the proper reducer. The following is a page from the maint manual showing the connection.

I need to find the appropriate reducer or different water hose.

Thanks for responding. I'm not sure what you mean by "chrome sink supply shut off valve".

Teflon tape is not a sealant.
It is a lubricant.

After further review and looking at my boxes of random plumbing fittings and after trial and error, I found that a dish washer fitting will provide a leak free connection. Admittedly this might be a kludge solution. I will revisit it after our trip.
