Have a chance at 2 slightly used but good 300AH 6V Lifeline GPL-6CT AGM batteries.

The charge specs are:

Bulk/Absorb Charge 2.37 to 2.4 Volts/cell@ 77°f .....7.10 to 7.20 volts
Float charge 2.20 to 2.23 Volts/cell@ 77°f .........6.60 to 6.70 volts

I have an IOTA DLS-55 converter/charger. Do I need to change anything and will my alternator be ok if I fit these batteries?

TIA

Larry

Larry,

Grab them and go. You don't need to adjust anything except your schedule for checking liquid level.

Bah! Missed them. Seller had 6 and guy bought two them came back and bought the other 4. Bummer.
Only good news is he gets them every few months, he services luxury yachts so I have a standing order for the next two.

Grrrrrrr

I would fully charge them with 6V charger before install. Then meter Voltage of each battery for a close match as well as do a quick load test of each battery. You don’t know their individual state of charge or condition. Since all cells are in series, a shorted cell would over Voltage the other 5 cells during charging.

OK! I'll follow your advice but I have quite a bit of confidence in the units ..probably the very best batteries of their type, right? 5 year warranty plus 10 yr avg service life, maintenance free, hand built in USA, USCG approved ..AND 300AH ...I can't wait till I get the call he has more!!!!
