I thought I had a better picture: http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=8440

From what I understand, Manny doesn't use the door very much.

I wouldn't mind having the option of a second door. The first time I parked in a parking lot, someone parked so close to my ONE door I couldn't open it!

Mike, your story reminds me of an important GMC safety item.
When we had our recent accident on I-80, I wasn't sure of the coach
condition, ie; fire, leaking fuel, etc. I knew I wanted us OUT pronto.
It was still driveable so I guided it over to the right side, close to the
standard freeway guard rail, and found we had barely enough room to open the
door and get out. Just something to keep in the back of your head.

Gene,

I forgot all about those pictures on my website. If you have links to them
I better not get rid of it or those pages. I sort of thought no one ever
went to my site.

Maybe others have commented about this before, but in the Robin Williams
movie "RV", they spend their first RVing night at some desert campground.
There is some turmoil when they get up to leave the next morning, and
through the window of their Rental-RV-SOB you can clearly see a GMC parked
in the next camp-space.

Or so all of us who watched it agreed when we showed the movie at our recent
Rally at Columbia, Ca.

To my disappointment (having watched the Disney cartoon "Cars" several
times) I've not been able to pick out a cartoon-GMC parked among the hordes
of SOBs in the infield of the race track. Considering the show celebrates
the "good old days", a GMC would have been a natural.

Or so all of us who watched it agreed when we showed the movie at our recent Rally at Columbia, Ca.

AS we watch for those elusive GMC's in the movies we occasionally find another. I hope someone is keeping a list.

Shown on the weather channel was a short of the tornado that hit Fort Worth Texas. It talks of the patrons of a restaurant that is perched at the top of a 37 story building. They claim this is a particularly popular site to watch the weather come into Ft Worth.

This particular time the entire restaurant watched the clouds begin its spin and then the actual birth of a twister, that was coming toward the building.

The picture of the after math shows that a building does not hold up to a tornado, the patrons of the restaurant moved to a stairwell and were spared but the restaurant itself was more or less destroyed.

At the very end of the the short there is a very quick shot of what appears to be a GMC sitting in its storage spot, appearantly on private property with everything from the bottom of the windows up sheared off.

Watch the series today and at the very end, after they show the building with the windows blown out, you will see the very breif shot of this poor old GMC after the tornados aftermath.

Last week I was watching our local TV news and they were doing a
little history about a long time radio station in Sag Harbor (Long
Island). On the owner's (?) desk was a model of a GMC. Maybe used one
as a mobile studio, or maybe just liked GMCs...

Our friend Dennis Richardson of GMC RV in Covina,CA has helped on some of
these coaches.
The Black GMC on Twister has a plex glass windshield on the driver side
since they put a door there and the windshield hits your knees otherwise.

Yep, Gene, I saw it "again" too.  Everytime it comes on, I have to watch it just to see the GMC.  Have lost count of times seen.  Lanny would always say, "You watchin' that show again?"  Ya' just cant beat a classic!

Hugs from the middle of Tx.  Counting the days, Rob & Helen.  Your spot is ready!
So Dan, when are you & Teri coming back?  Lanny Boyce is eating your M&M's.
