I'm a newby GMCer and a lurker here for some time.  It turns out I have been looking for  seats in the local "mens malls" and in Elkhart, In. at Flexsteel. I, like you had reservations about shipping costs, however looking at the "big picture", I decided that this was not a bad deal at all. In my area, used dirty cloth seats are $100 each. Perhaps a bit less if you buy two.  I rejected the last set  that was presented to me because they were too dirty to deal with. New Flexsteel leathers are approaching 1K, depending on which style you get. In your case, the seats would be something like $225 each delivered, or about 1/2 Flexsteel at a dealer. You may have to get Flexsteel shipped as well, which would add more to the final cost.

Hi Ken

It's not like the seats that I have don't work, their fine with the exception that Lisa's sits a tad lopsided.......just a matter of priorities.

At $315 shipping I probably would not have done it. At $350 for two delivered & using paypal I went for it. Was shipping high? Perhaps, but seats were low so it all comes out in the wash. It's $175 ea delivered without having to spend days in several mens malls looking for color, quality, cleanliness and fit, in the cold or with mosquitoes (this is Wisconsin, those are the choices).

Ray - I'll give you a call when they get here.

Soooo, I got in on this thread in the middle. What year, model of Ford
Pickup seats are we talking about? There are some junk yards around here that
might have a set (for me). The cup holders intrigue me.
Just to add another side to the leather vs cloth debate. A lot depends on
where you live. We don't wear shorts or skirts much in Seatte, ergo, not much
chance of burning your legs. We don't have fabric seats in any of our cars
and recently took a trip to New England from Seatte in a borrowed van with
fabric seats. We both hated it. Every time I squirmed a little, my pants
would creep up on me and it would tend to pull my wife's pants down as she
squirmed! Not too comfortable for a 8000+ mile ride. Make mine leather.

I was surprised that GM didn't design about 40 cup holders into the GMC, that's one thing they seem to have down !

Bob - Are those cloth? I thought the seats from AZ were leather? Anyway, I
like the install. I'm not sure about mine because I have the bench pass. seat
and was hoping to use that middle half-seat and a full seat on the pass. side
but they are not available in gray leather.

There are several people selling the VMI take-outs in this area. I was looking at leather, but made a comment about wanting cloth, and he said--well I have lot's of those!

Are we talking about the same supplier? Andy and Danielle? I picked up two sets of their seats and asked them about cloth and they said they never had any cloth seats.

No- this is a guy on Thunderbird and I17--he sells them out of his house. He displays the leather, but has cloth in his garage and storage facility. He includes the center console which isn't of much use for me.

Hi,
Just for info for those back here in the East, I bought a pair of the tan
seats today and the charges were total $350.00. Told it was $125 for the pair
plus $30 for boxes and $98 each for shipping. That's to my place in western
PA. UPS told me they would ship $60 each which would have been $75 cheaper but
I didn't argue. At $350 for new leather seats, I think it's a bargain

Do you have a contact number for the fellow with the cloth seats? I like the integrated cupholders and have never been a big fan of leather seats. It's one of those things that's very individual, but for me they're too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.

Ray,
My shipping cost from Phoenix to PA was $200. UPS quoted me $60 each
but the seller of the seats said said $98 each plus $30 for two boxes. I
swallowed and took it, but how come $315 to Wisconsin ? Maybe you could negotiate
a little , eh?

You'll need to box them up and crate them so it will not get damaged.

I totally agree, after seeing Chris' seats in the photos I'm changing to Tan
and going for the half-seat too. Danelle told me it would be $370 to me and
I was the highest yet. I guess I'm just about the furthest out. She thought I
was in the boonies because of the cost, nope just the Far East (USA that is).
A great deal for all, I say. Thanks again to Chris for putting this whole
thing together.

I think you made a better deal with Danielle than I did with Andy, the
other half. I'm in W PA about 350 miles closer to Phoenix than you and paid $350
and got just the pair not including the half seat. Just a Heads Up to future
buyers to negotiate for the better deal which seems to be available depending
on which partner you bargain with.

Well, the verdict is still out on the total seeing I switched my color to
Tan from Gray. She told me the set of 3 was $150. The shipping for the two pcs.
was going to be $245, I'm hoping the 3 pcs. won't be too much more. Chris'
seats looked great in the photos and I think I can work with Tan as easily as
Gray. As long as the whole deal is less than $500, I feel that I'm still way
ahead.
