There is more to the fire than the distributor cap. It looks like mine did a little over 10 years ago after it caught fire fed by the carb leaking gas.
Look at the pictures. It had an engine fire. Front grill is melted. Burn spots on left on right fender wells. Notice he did not give you pictures of the top of the engine with the hatch open.
State Farm paid me over $10,000 to fix mine.

And ratchet strap are pretty rare PO addition by one of our club members when he rescued it years ago. He de-loused(animal infestation) and re-homes it. Pretty sure bathroom was still intact then.
Bummer, the last owner(before this guy). Had high plans to make it a motorcycle hauler. I remember it for sale for a while last year.
Even in this market, $2k is a bit much of a buy in price for that project.

I'm wondering whether it really "drove beautifully" with a block of wood for an airbag. I'm guessing not so much. As an emergency repair rescue, well it works, but to have driven it that way through a couple of other owners...
