Well folks,

This is a search that is all about parts for a non-HEI distributor. I don't want to go to HEI because what I have works very well.
I have been beating up the forum search engine and cannot find an answer to this.

I want to change out the cap and rotor just on general principle. I am trying real hard to avoid buying any Chinese Crap. Having ordered up parts from so many suppliers only to find that in the box it says "Made in China". Or better still Hecho y Mexico on the outside, but the parts inside are marked as Chinese origin (or not marked at all, but have a Hanzi tag).

When I had my second Opel (then sold by Buick dealers). I had ignition problems and kept buying Bosch parts for replacement. I stopped by the Buick dealer once as was sold Delco parts for Opel. No more problems....

So, if anybody can tell me a manufacturer or supplier that is still supplying good quality parts, I would like to know about them.

Thank you friends,

Matt

I think the Standard Motor products expensive line parts with brass terminals are still made in Indiana USA. They have several price points on many products.

I've always had good luck with Standard Ignition parts. Maybe take a look at one of the aftermarket ignition suppliers (MSD, Mallory, Accel, etc)

I've always used Accel cap/rotor/wires on the GMC and previous distributor-equipped cars. Accel ignition parts may cost more than other brands but they also last longer and don't give me any problems. The rotors don't arc through and the caps don't build up corrosion and start misfiring like with the cheap stuff. I couldn't tell you the last time I replaced the Accel parts on my GMC, they've been on there so long.

I can't say whether current production Accel parts are of the same high quality because I haven't had to replace the old Accel parts.
