I checked for myself, and haven't been able to find a "Delete account"-button.

I guess I don't understand what your problem is.
You seem to be reading the forum, just don't read it.
If you are getting notifications you not want, go into <Control Panel/Account Settings> and delete your address. Then go to <Preferences> and shift everything you don't want to <NO>. You still have to check UPDATE before you leave.
If you do this, you won't hear from us again.
