My cruise control does not work, and I really don't want to use it, so I am removing it.

It appears that I can just move the speedo cable, currently connected to the transducer, down to the speedo drive on the transmission. The gentlest curve puts it underneath the left exhaust downpipe. Is this where it should go? Do I need to get some kind of insulation wrap for it? It looks like it will be within 3 inches of the down pipe.

Thanks for any advice!

Never hurts to insulate it by the exhaust as we see a lot of them come in
with issues.
Also putting little synthetic grease only in that area on the cable.
