Kathy and I are leaving on a BIG cross country trip in the GMC in a few weeks, traveling from Tucson to Central Pennsylvania (Lebanon County).

Kathy is a serious planner (you have to be these days) and has all our stops planned out all the way there and most of them planned for the trip back home. She hit a snag at Canton Ohio, our first scheduled stop on the way home. The fairgrounds, our first choice, is NOT going to be open for RV camping and the only other options she has found are at expensive RV resorts, KOA, Jellystone, etc. or have three day minimums.

All we need is a place to spend the night and to park the motorhome while we do some things in the area. We have a tendency to do as low budget camping as possible and have no problem dry camping or even staying in a parking lot for the night, then moving somewhere else during the day. The main thing we want to do in the area is the McKinley Presidential Library. (Do they have a nice big accessible parking lot?)

Is there anyone who is local or familiar to the area that can help with suggestions?

Thanks,

Carl,

I am out of time tonight, but there is always Harvest Hosts and Boondockers Welcome to look at, both require you to be self contained.

My first plan was to ask if you were still FMCA. They have a free FHU near Cinci, but that is ~220 from Canton.

If you plans lead you up into SE Michigan, we have a place. WE only, but the price is real good.

Matt

If you want to go 327 miles east of there you are always welcome at Porter County Airport in Valparaiso, IN.

If you do not need to plug in, then almost any Wally World will let you stay.

Thanks for all the suggestions. This is making the planning easier. Between you guys and the FB crowd, we have some good ideas to look at.
