A 120 volt, 1Kw (1,000 watt) element is used in the water heater. Just take the old element to a hardware store and match up the mount and size.
To lessen the chance of burning up the new element, get a 240 volt 4Kw (4,000) watt element. When operating on 120V, it will consume the same 1Kw of power, however the reasoning is the 4Kw element will be more rugged and might survive longer. Again just look for the same size and mounting arrangement as the old element.
Also, Replace the Water Heater switch with a wind-up timer. Just before you need hot water, crank the time ON to about 45 minutes or so. In about 15 minutes you will have hot water. The timer will run down and shut the water heater OFF, thus saving you from remembering to turn it OFF. We turn ours ON when we get up in the morning and again just before dinner time. The rest of the time it generally has sufficient hot water store for any random use during the day.

Just go to Home Depot and get a 4000 to 4500 watt 240 volt element. They come in two types, a screw in and a bolt in one. Get the screw in one and if you need the bolt in one (4 bolts) buy the optional adapter plate with the element.
Those elements are designed to be submersed in water. If you leave the new one powered on and the tank is dry, you will burn it up quickly too.
Also when they burn and you later fill them with water, they will trip the electrical GFI at the pedestal or elsewhere in the coach even when the heater is powered off. DO NOT LEAVE THE HEATING ELEMENT ON WITH AN EMPTY TANK.
