So, I received a call on these for our company truck.

https://www.blueinktech.com/air_scale.php

It’s $150 per sensor.

The only other thing I have with airbags is a GMC Motorhome.

Interesting way to get the weight in the bogies.

I see a way to do it with a couple of sensors and an Arduino.

The math isn’t complicated.

And then the weight reported could be correlated to the needed psi to level the ride. Interesting.

Simple enough to measure the pressure, but how do you determine the
EFFECTIVE area of the convoluted air bags? Seems to me the only fixed
value is that of the rigid end caps -- is that truly where all the
suspension force is concentrated???

hooking up a pressure sensor is easy,
The hard part is calibration.
Hard as in measuring air pressure and weight at multiple suspension heights and weights.

I doubt you could get by just measuring pressure at ride height and a range of weights, but maybe.
maybe even just measure three weights and fit a curve to it.

Oh you'd also need to do it for each bag type

I wonder how the https://www.blueinktech.com/air_scale.php do it.

I picked his brain about calibration, and it was basically a set point at empty and full.

They are looking at weight, not ride height.

My interest was weight.

Keith, I can’t even begin to tell you how pleased I am with the Microlevel system. The campsite leveling feature is amazing.

Thanks Dolph, good to have feedback 🙂

The problem is with the GMC we can vary ride height, a semi trailer is always at ride height. This means the air pressure can be the same value for different weights. I suppose if you have ride height controlled, read AND front, that would work

As far as needing their fancy system, all you need is a pressure gauge and a table. It could be completely manual.
The hard part is making the table

In that all I'm interested in id ride height, I don't concern myself with pressure or weight.
