Hi. We are in need of good interior components to be used in the restoration of the two earliest 1973 GMC Motorhomes ever sold to the public. This is an important project for the community and to preserve our GMC history! And we need your help.

The first two GMC's were Canyonlands. The first GMC sold to the public was TZE...0021. It's in Texas, it's in un-loved condition and it needs a new interior. If we can get components from a 1973 or 1974 26 foot Canyonlands interior that would be a tremendous help. Second choice would be interior components from either a 1973 or 1974 26' Painted Desert or Glacier.

If you or someone you know or know of, has removed the interior of one of those coaches and has cabinets, cabinet doors and drawers, dinette and couch (particularly the cushion covers and upholstery, hopefully in very good condition), dinette table, etc, some or all of the interior parts, please PM me or email me.

This is a volunteer GMC community effort and there's not much money on hand, but if the parts are sitting around and you couldn't bring yourself to throw them out, now's your chance to find that good home for them!

Thanks in advance.

How's this project going?
I have most of the upholstery from my 73 Canyonlands. It looks stock as far as construction and color palate however from what I've seen in the GMC info pages, the pattern is wrong. The pictures show a brown/tan flower pattern where I have a brown/tan stripe pattern. This coach was a late 73, did GM have alternate patterns or is this probably a redo at some point. In either case, would you be interested in it (just upholstery, no foam)?

Cheers.

Hi Shane. We're taking the initial steps with the two earliest coaches, #22 has been acquired and we're working on transporting it. COVID is making it more work, but we'll get it done.

I spoke with Bill Bryant and the striped fabric is a question. Please email me pictures of what you have. Even if the fabric is wrong we may still be able to use them. Thanks for the offer!

I have a couch that was behind the driver in my 73. The build sheet says it is a painted desert but it has the stripes on it like a canyonlands. Let me know if you are interested. The couch is brown. It is also free if picked up.
