Tom,

Unfortunately for you, nobody that I know of. More than a few have been built up by owners, and some have been successful, not all have. There is a whole system that you can buy from one of the speed companies that is a completely new FEAD that may or may not reverse the coolant pump and may require different accessories to be installed. The packing may be an issue in a coach.

Tom,

I'm one of the few running a serpentine belt in a GMCMH, and perhaps the
last surviving one to have run it on both an Olds 455 and a Cad500 -- my
current setup. With that being said, I can't offer you much good advice
except this link to a long-ago thread on the subject:
https://groups.google.com/g/gmcnet-archive/c/Il2HfQMqCps?pli=1

While looking for that link, I did run across this which looks worth
studying more:
https://pacificgbody.com/blogs/shop/oldsmobile-serpentine-conversion

One thing I caution you about serpentines: Most of the setups for the 455
wind up running the water pump on the back of the serpentine belt -- that
means it runs in reverse. That caused some users of the Leigh Harrison
(who's deceased) system to have overheating problems. A lot of us
tried modifying OEM pumps to improve the reverse flow and Leigh spent a lot
of time and money designing, prototyping, and setting up production for a
true reverse-flow pump. Only then did someone tell us about such a pump
from some model of Olds Diesel engine (I can't tell you more than that).
The point of all that is to tell you that if I were trying to design a
serpentine belt system for the 455, I'd start by trying to design a 2-belt
system similar to what I've designed and run for 5+ years on my Cad500.

You CAN find kits, but they won't be cheap.

The Co-op recently announced a new system. No idea what the cost is but it sure is purty.

I guess, based on the water pump issue and the other complications, I will stick to the original system using a double pulley. With so much work ahead, I can always re-visit the belts later.

Thank you guys so much, I really appreciate you guys for all the input, opinions and wisdom.

Thanks again,
Tom

With fan belts there is the further choice of stock, or a double pulley alternator. I have the double pulley alternator and am very happy with it.

That looks like a reasonable system, but I didn't see a price. I can't say
that I like that big apparatus ("wings") on the front of the engine, nor
all the added pulleys. But I DO like the fact that it runs the water pump
on the ridged, inside, of the belt so that it turns in the correct
direction. Congratulations, Jim Bounds.

For the past 2 years I have been using the NAPA belt #A56 for my alternator/water pump installation. Most of the belts available today have shrank in width to 10MM or slightly less. These A56 belts are the wide type belts like the original width belts of the past and fit the drive pulleys. The rule of thumb lately has been to use a 10MM wrench and if it fits over the belt then most likely the belts will sit too far down in the pulley and eventually start to slip and squeal. If the wrench does not fit over the belt then you have a better chance of avoiding the problems.

Ken,
It appears to be a kit produced by All American Billet. To get the correct kit part number you would need to contact them direct.

Wow! $1795.50. I think maybe I invested as much as $50 in my Cad500
serpentine, including the CS130D alternator.

That is a lot of "v" belts and several tow calls. Think I'll just keep my
dual belt setup a while longer. Those serpentine systems have a place,
though. They "LOOK REALLY COOL" in the exposed engine compartment of a 32
Ford hot rod. Don't know if they cool the engine one bit better, though.

Here is the link for the kit. It’s pricey but includes PS pump, alternator and AC. There is also a hydro boost option.
