So Much Survived [message #356930]

I just got delivery of my 1977 Birchaven after the accident. I was very impressed that so much survived, besides my wife and I. The drive train is completely intact, as well as all cooling systems to include oil cooler guard. If not for the one tree on the side I may have been driving it home.

I am in the process of buying a 4 post lift and getting ready to transfer much to a new 1977 Birchaven with a completely new brake system and Disc brakes.

I just need a rust and rot free unit without pull handles, air horns and all the ginger bread bolted through the body panels. For sure fiber glass holes are easier to repair than aluminum. I will be keeping my eyes open and scouting.

I am building a list of possible coaches.

I think many of us would be happy to go look at candidates for you.

I had dinner with Jared Kohl the other evening, and your mishap was a big subject of discussion.

I’m glad you, your wife and the pups were unscathed.

I’m going to be making a change to my braking system to eliminate that single point of failure that is the master cylinder.

In the interim, whatever we can do to help.

I guess my memory's completely gone, or I never saw the details of your
incident.

There are two Birchavens (76s IIRC) in Macon, GA. Neither is pristine by
any means but I didn't notice any serious structural or appearance
problems. Let me know if you want contact info.

Ken if memory serves he lost the master cylinder and had to take it into the rubarb....

Thank you everyone for all the support and help.

I did post photos on the facebook page. I do not know how to post them here. The towing company just delivered the coach to day.

The rebuild journey begins tomorrow afternoon. I built Houses, Helicopters, cars and boats, This may be my last big project. I hope I have the energy and drive to speed through. I will push myself and keep all informed.
