I use 6 ton each stands. Not for the high load capacity. But to have a very large base. And the height that they can be adjusted too. They can reach to 24 inches. Have a 12-inch square base. And there chromed. That's the important part. RIGHT?

Note that the replacement recalled HF stands are failing now due to welds “zippering” in the V shape of the legs. Do not use the original or the recalled replacement stands.
And “chrome don’t get ya home”.

Bob,
Over the last year or so we have a number of discussion on the rating of jack stands. I always thought that the rating was for each individually. After ASMEPASE-2014 came effective in 2015 all jack stands must be rated per pair and NOT per individual stand.

https://agradetools.com/jack-stands-rating/
and
http://www.usjack.com/images/pdfs/GARAGE%20STANDS%20(2015).pdf

This is a complete reversal of my thinking over the years, my bad! So to make all this information more clear a pair of 3 ton rated jack stands are rated for 1.5 tons each. Common rule we should now follow is use jacks that are rate for 10 or 12 ton on the front of the GMC coach and 10 to 12 ton ton on the back of the coach. I have be a convert also of wood jack stands.

For those of you out there that would like to make your own this is a complete album on how to do it.

There is also a set of plans for build a drive up ramp that can be use on the back and also the front.

Lots of great ideas from the Guys here in the GMC community.

Above all work under your coach safety, as it can get lower than a snake in tire rut if you not carful.

For you all, be good, be careful, be well and be safe in these trying times!!!

My Ramps. Then put jack stands under 4 corners and hydraulic jacks under bogies, floor jack between the front jack stands. JWID
