Can someone clarify what model/floorplan I actually have?

The "official" diagram does not include mine, which has two loveseats
on the driver side, one fore, one aft of the side kitchen. The closest
diagram is captioned as "REAR BATH" (on my official diagram), but
does not include the loveseat behind the driver's seat.

It has the rear bath.

Diagram available to anyone by emai

Thanks in advance.

Jay,

There were 3 basic 26’ Royale Floorpans. With in those 3 floor plans there were a number of options available

The first was a 26’ Royale Side Bath w/Shower and w/Rear U-Dinette.

The second was a 26’ Rear Bath Royale w/Tub.

The third was a 26’ Side Bath Royale w/Shower.

The first part of this coachman owners manual shows the floor plans for the Royale.

http://www.bdub.net/manuals/coachmen_owners_manual-1978.pdf
and this is pretty good too.

John,

And, I am also interested if there is a simple method of converting the
two rear lounges to a queen/king bed?

Thanks again,

Jay

Pics are basically the same now but walls are back to original walnut.

Anything is possible, plan on it being a pain in the Ass to make or change sheets and you will be the one that has to do it. The twin beds are the hot tip and are what buyers are looking for when you get ready to sell. We put a full size in the back of our 77 eleganza II and it was tough to make and do sheets, it was a struggle.

This is the Lift up bed frame that we built.

Sure! Remove the seats, build a frame of 2 by 4 to fit over the bases, have a mattress
made to fit the space (including the cutout at left rear) and go. That is what
my prior owner did.

The sheet chore is why the folks at Coleman make sleeping bags and
sleeping bag liners.

No doubt about it, making the bed is a PIA, but after a couple of times doing it, you develop a technique. I spread the sheets out on the mattress and then lift the bed and work from underneath, safety pinning it to the underside of the mattress. Same with the blanket. Once sheets are back on after washing, daily making of bed is easy peezy. As I am getting out of bed in the morning, I pull the sheets and blankets toward the head of our bed as I am shuffling my way to the hallway. Takes about 30 seconds. Place pillows and you are done. We have a standard queen bed. Decided early on that when we travel, we want home like comfort on the road, and there is something about sleeping together that makes it all worth it. We actually feel we sleep better in the coach than at home. If I have to get up in the middle of the night to .....you know.....I stand up and step over. Or, if you are the one who gets up, sleep next to the hallway. Just our humble opinion.
